Information for doctors
At the PET/CT Prešov facility, we perform
PET/CT examinations based on 18 F – FDG for ONCOLOGY PATIENTS.
If you are interested in having your patients examined, please follow these steps:
- Fill out two copies of the Request for 18F-FDG PET/CT Examination (a sample request form can be found in the Documents section).
- The request form can also be filled out online (in this case, however, it is necessary to print a copy, stamp it, and give it to the patient to bring to the examination). In addition to all the necessary information, please also include the patient’s telephone number, your telephone number, or e-mail address, as this will shorten the time required for scheduling and/or sending the results.
- Send the patient with the completed request form (or just the completed request form) to our facility, where they will be scheduled and instructed on the next steps of the examination.
- In the case of an urgent examination, these can be performed within a few hours after a telephone consultation with the facility’s doctor.
There are almost no contraindications for nuclear medicine examinations, generally only pregnancy and lactation. We examine patients of all ages. - If a patient is unable to attend the examination on the scheduled date, we ask you to cancel the examination by telephone well in advance, approximately 1-2 days before the scheduled examination. We also ask you to instruct your patient to do so.
- Radiopharmaceuticals are prepared individually for each patient, and their non-use means that the prepared dose, which could be used for another patient, is wasted.
- The examinations are non-invasive.
The general rule for examinations in nuclear medicine is increased fluid intake, especially after the examination.
Patient appointment
Patients can be booked for examinations by sending a request by post, telephone, email, in person, or via an online form. After the form has been sent, we will contact the patient to arrange an appointment.
